About Tana

Tana Gargalianos, BSN, RN, IBCLC

She/Her/Hers

Tana is a registered nurse with more than 10 years of experience, 8 of which have been spent working with families with new babies. She has experience in medical/surgical, critical care, forensic, labor and delivery, and postpartum nursing. She has spent most of her career helping families navigate the precious first moments with their babies in the hospital setting. She became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant in 2020, and now guides families after coming home from the hospital, who are continuing their breastfeeding, chestfeeding, and breast milk feeding journeys. In addition to breastfeeding support, in other professional roles, Tana is a perinatal educator, facilitating group classes where she prepares expectant parents to care for themselves and their baby or babies. This includes labor education, infant care, breastfeeding, and important safety education.

Tana is married and has two children. Her personal breastfeeding experience was not without challenges. Those challenges fueled her desire to help parents deal with the difficulties that may come with breastfeeding, and she is passionate about delivering trauma informed lactation care with the breastfeeding parent’s personal goals always in mind. With these goals carefully considered, Tana will help you assess your situation, and work with you to come up with a plan to best nourish your baby and support the needs of both of you, as well as your family as a whole. She is ready to give you the evidence based support that you need, with gentle care, in the comfort of your own home.
